Love Those Ratings: The movie industry’s voluntary ratings system continues to have the wide backing of most American parents, according to a survey released by the Motion Picture Assn. of America and the National Assn. of Theater Owners. Seventy-four percent of the 2,015 adults with children under age 18 surveyed by Opinion Research Corp. answered that they found the G, PG, PG-13, R and NC-17 ratings to be “very useful” or “fairly useful.”
