Tandy Ships ‘Multimedia’ Computers: Tandy Corp. said it has become the first personal computer maker to ship PCs that comply with an industry standard for “multimedia” use, or the combination of text, images and sound. Compared to regular PCs, multimedia personal computers contain extra memory, a compact disc player and special graphics capability. Tandy said its models are available through its Radio Shack and Computer SuperCenter stores.
