Kings, Sharks Skate to 1-1 Tie
FRESNO — The San Jose Sharks got the first tie in their NHL history, playing the Kings to a 1-1 tie Tuesday night.
Goalies Jeff Hackett of San Jose and David Goverde of Los Angeles stopped all the shots they faced as both played the final 32 minutes of the game to preserve the tie in the NHL exhibition.
Hackett stopped 12 shots, including one in overtime, while Goverde halted 11, two of them in the extra period.
Mike McHugh scored for San Jose (1-1-1) at 8:09 of the first after taking a pass from Craig Coxe.
The Kings’ Bob Kudelski tied it up at 1:04 of the second period on a power-play goal.
The Kings have a loss and a tie in the exhibition season.
