HUNTINGTON BEACH : Applications Taken for History Board
Applications are being accepted for a position on the Historic Resources Board, which guides and advises the City Council on historic issues.
The City Council will appoint the new member to the board, which meets monthly to discuss such issues as the preservation of historic buildings and sites, museums and programs. The panel also encourages and promotes expanded historical and cultural opportunities for residents.
The board is composed of 11 members, each serving a four-year term.
Any resident can apply, but applicants should be concerned with protecting the quality of life in the city through historic preservation, city officials said.
The deadline to apply is Sept. 15.
Applications should be sent to the Office of the Mayor, City of Huntington Beach, 2000 Main St., Huntington Beach, Calif. 92648. For more information, call the Cultural Affairs Division at (714) 536-5258.
