VENTURA : City Approves Lease for Surfing Museum
If all goes as planned, the Surfing Hall of Fame and Museum will open by the end of the year in Ventura, just a few steps from the beach.
The Ventura City Council approved an agreement Monday night to lease city-owned space at 342 S. California St. to the museum for $1 a year. The 800-square-foot space is in the parking structure across from the Holiday Inn.
The lease is for up to two years to give the museum a chance to become self-sufficient, said Terry Adelman, Ventura finance director.
