Tarzana Regional Medical Center has begun work on a $10-million pavilion that will house labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum rooms for mothers with other medical problems.

The two-story, 45,000-square-foot building, to be erected at 18321 Clark St., will also include an in-vitro fertilization unit.

The new building is part of the medical center’s plan to focus on the health care problems of women, who account for 60% of U. S. hospital admissions.

Construction will be finished around June, 1993, according to medical center representatives.
