Motor Home Strikes, Kills Boy Crossing Street on Red Light
ANAHEIM — A 15-year-old boy was fatally injured Monday night when he apparently ran into traffic and was struck by a motor home, police said.
At 8:50 p.m., David Michael Richardson of Anaheim was crossing Lincoln Avenue against a red light when he was hit by a 1986 Pace Arrow motor home heading south on Rio Vista Street at the intersection with Lincoln Avenue, Police Sgt. Ken Vrott said.
The driver of the motor home, Terrence James Aitken, of Anaheim, “was driving about 35 to 40 miles per hour and was not able to stop,” Vrott said.
Police said Richardson was treated at the scene and later transferred to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he died at 10:30 p.m.
The driver was not cited, and an investigation is continuing.
