COLOUR SCHEME: Living Colour is putting out a new six-song EP called “Biscuits,” which offers a host of unreleased material, spotlighting some of the band’s biggest influences. Due out July 19, it features a live version of Talking Heads’ “Memories,” plus new studio versions of James Brown’s “Talkin’ Loud and Saying Nothing,” Jimi Hendrix’s “Burning of the Midnight Lamp” and Al Green’s “Love and Happiness.” . . . Speaking of cover songs, the Dan Reed Network’s new album, “Heat,” features a sassy new version of Pink Floyd’s “Money.” . . . And kudos to Elektra Records for putting together its new American Explorer Series, which features new albums by a stellar assortment of roots artists. The first batch, due next week, includes music from rockabilly cult figure Charlie Feathers, zydeco prince Boozoo Chavis and West Texas country crooner Jimmie Dale Gilmore.
