Despite a triple and a double by Heather Medearis, Hart High fell to St. Paul, 4-2, in the championship game of the Thousand Oaks softball tournament at Thousand Oaks High.

In two games Saturday, Medearis was four for six with two doubles and a triple and was named the tournament’s outstanding offensive player. She tripled in a run in the seventh inning to bring Hart (15-3) within 4-1 and later scored to cut the deficit to two, but the Indians’ rally faltered.

In the first game, Hart defeated Camarillo, 8-2, by scoring eight runs in the sixth. Jamie Dean had two hits in the inning to key the Hart rally.
