SIMI VALLEY : Gunmen Hold Up Store, Gas Station
Two Simi Valley stores were robbed early Sunday in unrelated incidents, police said.
The first robbery occurred at 1:52 a.m. at the Stop N’ Go Market at 1695 Royal Ave., Sgt. Arch Morgan said.
Morgan said two men tried to leave the store without paying for four cases of beer.
When the clerk stopped one of them, the other man pulled out a small-caliber handgun and demanded the release of his friend, Morgan said.
The clerk let go of the man and the two fled on foot, dropping one case as they left the store, Morgan said.
In the other incident, the Thrifty Gas Station at 706 Los Angeles Ave. was robbed by two men, one of them carrying a sawed-off shotgun, Morgan said.
The men, who wore nylon stockings over their heads, entered the station at 3:01 a.m. and demanded money, Morgan said.
They took $60 from the cash register and then fled in a vehicle, Morgan said.
No one was hurt in either incident.
