Sun Valley Woman Killed in Collision
A Sun Valley woman was killed when the car she was riding in was struck while making a left turn in Van Nuys, Los Angeles police said.
Laura Soriano, 19, was thrown from a Chevrolet Camaro turning from Sherman Way onto Valjean Avenue after it was hit by a car driven by a 17-year-old Los Angeles youth about 9 p.m. Saturday, Officer Frank Zdroy said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The youth, whose name was not released, was not arrested, but the investigation is continuing, police said.
