Swap-Meet Vendors Trade Views
Irving Burg’s letter (“Marketplace: Model of Superb Swap Meet,” March 17) deserves a response.
We are incensed. We resent being labeled “inmates,” although in a backhanded way this serves to let the cat out of the bag--we are really reminded of a prison run by a warden!
Because the food is priced right--right at the top of the scale--gross revenues make the Swap Meet the envy of the world. The letter publicly affirms the crafted spaces and beautiful merchandise which we, the sellers, are responsible for on our own.
The plea to leasing officials not to disturb the masterpiece which we created just strengthens our bid to be unlocked from our cells so that we can properly revamp the management.
