Cyclist Killed as Truck Hits Bike on Highway
A Lancaster man was killed Tuesday night when his bicycle was struck by a pickup truck on the Sierra Highway, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
James E. Reedy, 28, was wearing dark clothes and had no reflectors on his bike, Sheriff’s Sgt. Joe Dymerski said. The cyclist was struck from behind about 8 p.m. as he traveled south in the slow lane.
The motorist, John Marquez of Palmdale, was not charged, Dymerski said.
