New Soviet-American Journal on the Stands
The first issue of a new Soviet-American student journal, called Montage, is on the stands.
Supported by Pepperdine University in Malibu as well as the Ploughshares Fund of San Francisco and others, the journal features social commentary and creative writing by students in both countries. All articles in the biannual journal appear in both languages.
The new journal, which is produced entirely by students, has offices at Stanford University in Palo Alto and in Moscow, where it is staffed by students from Moscow State University and Moscow High Technical University.
The first issue, which will be sold at newsstands and elsewhere, contains stories, poems and other pieces on the theme “Origins of Identity,” a spokesman for the journal said.
