Esperanza Shot Putter Plans to Attend UCLA
Mark Parlin of Esperanza High School made an oral commitment to attend UCLA on a track and field scholarship, Esperanza assistant coach Bill Pendleton said.
Parlin, the defending Southern Section 4-A shot put champion with a best mark of 62 feet, nine inches, visited Texas A&M;, Southern Methodist, Kansas, Michigan State and UCLA.
