Genentech Inc.: The South San Francisco biotech firm lost $133.7 million in its third quarter as its revenue rose 12% to $112.1 million. The company cited charges of $148.9 million related to its merger transaction with Roche Holdings Ltd. for the decline. The firm earned $11.4 million in the 1989 period.
