Man Robbed While Feeding Stray Cats
An Echo Park man was stabbed and robbed early Saturday morning in the 4000 block of Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles police said.
Arthur Margolis, 49, told police that he was feeding stray cats in the area near Sunset Boulevard and Sanborn Avenue when he was approached by two assailants who demanded that he turn over his money, Detective Maria Rivas said.
Margolis told police that one of the two assailants demanded his money and pushed him. Margolis said he pushed the man back.
The assailant pulled a knife and once again ordered Margolis to turn over his money and forced him to the ground, Rivas said.
Margolis tried to run away, but the assailant stabbed him several times in the lower back before the two men escaped.
Margolis got to a business where he was given assistance, Rivas said.
Margolis was taken to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, where earlier this week he was in serious condition.
