SEAL BEACH : 2 Men Shot During On-Ramp Argument
Two men were shot and wounded early Friday morning as they argued with occupants of another car on an on-ramp to the San Diego Freeway.
Leif Danielson, 22, of Greeley, Colo., was shot in the left foot, and Kenneth Miller, 22, of Costa Mesa was shot in the left thigh about 2:25 a.m., police said. Both were taken to Los Alamitos Medical Center, said Seal Beach police dispatcher Carl Liebold.
Danielson remained in the hospital Friday after undergoing surgery, while Miller was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Danielson and Miller were heading onto the southbound lanes of the San Diego Freeway at the 7th Street on-ramp when they got into a confrontation with the occupants of a late-model, red Pontiac Trans-Am, Liebold said.
One of the unidentified occupants in the Pontiac suddenly opened fire, striking Danielson and Miller, he said.
Police found Danielson and Miller bleeding in their stopped car when they responded to calls from an unidentified witness. Liebold said police investigators did not know the nature of the dispute or whether the victims knew the assailants.
