MEINERS OAKS : Cyclist, 8, Hit By Car in Stable Condition
An 8-year-old boy who was hit by a car while riding his bicycle in Meiners Oaks was in stable condition Friday.
Kristoffer Gonzales of Meiners Oaks broke his leg in the accident, which occurred at 5:20 p.m. Thursday while he was riding with friends, said Officer Jim Utter of the California Highway Patrol.
Kristoffer was going south on Pueblo Avenue when he rode through a stop sign and in front of a car traveling west on Fernando Drive, Utter said.
The boy was struck by the bumper of the car driven by Jeremy Ogletree, 16, of Oak View.
Kristoffer was taken to Ojai Valley Community Hospital.
He was later transferred to Ventura County Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition Friday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
No charges are expected to be brought against the driver, Utter said.
