50 Flee Swiss Storms

ZURICH, Switzerland — Police used helicopters to evacuate 50 people from a village in the canton of Fribourg after it was cut off by landslides during severe summer storms, authorities said Monday. The storms late Sunday also swept away bridges in Bern, halting rail and road traffic in some areas, and buried crops under mud.
