SHORT TAKES : Cosby to Get Honorary Doctorate

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. — Comedian Bill Cosby will be awarded an honorary doctorate degree from Rust College in November.
The actor and star of television’s “The Cosby Show” will be in northern Mississippi on Nov. 18 to receive his degree during Rust College’s 124th Founder’s Day celebration.
Mayor Johnny Ford, the first black chief executive of Tuskegee, Ala., will also be given an honorary degree.
Rust College is a predominantly black liberal arts college founded in 1866. The school has an enrollment of about 950.
