County IN BRIEF : LOS ANGELES : Suspect Held in Shooting Death
Police arrested a 26-year-old Los Angeles man in connection with the shooting death of a Van Nuys man, but no motive was immediately disclosed, authorities said Monday. Horas Comacho was arrested without incident Sunday evening in the 1800 block of West Manchester Avenue, said Los Angeles Police Officer Laura Ann Tesoriero. He was being held without bail Monday in the Van Nuys jail, pending arraignment Wednesday. Tesoriero said investigators linked Comacho to the slaying Sunday afternoon of Aaron Hernandez, 23, in a residential area near Blythe Street and Kester Avenue in Sepulveda. Neighbors told police they heard gunshots, looked out their windows and saw Hernandez stagger and fall. Several men were seen running away. Hernandez sustained several gunshot wounds in the torso, and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene, Tesoriero said.
