PREP ROUNDUP : La Quinta Wins Tennis Title
La Quinta High School defeated Bolsa Grande, 14-4, in a Garden Grove League boys’ tennis match Monday to clinch its 20th league title in 23 years.
Jeff Hosilyk swept his singles sets, 6-2, 6-3, 6-0, and the doubles team of Hung Du and Dung Doan swept, 6-3, 6-1, 6-2, as La Quinta (14-4, 12-0 in league play) won its 26th consecutive league match and second consecutive league championship.
In a Garden Grove League softball game:
La Quinta 1, Bolsa Grande 0--Jill Bishop (3-3) pitched a three-hitter to lead La Quinta (10-9, 7-4) at Bolsa Grande. Diane Boston scored on an error in the sixth inning for the game’s only run.
