‘Peaks’ Makes Strong Move to Regular Time Slot
“Twin Peaks,” which arrived with whopping ratings for its two-hour premiere Sunday, continued its strong showing in its regular time-period debut Thursday against “Cheers” and “Grand,” part of NBC’s top prime-time lineup.
The new ABC series averaged 27% of the national audience for its hour. Although defeated by “Cheers,” which drew 33% of viewers, “Twin Peaks” was a solid second with 26% for that half-hour. “Twin Peaks” then won its second half-hour with 27% of the audience, while “Grand” had 25%.
