County IN BRIEF : HERMOSA BEACH : 8 Youths Arrested in Fight That Injures 2

Eight young men and women were arrested on the Strand in Hermosa Beach during a fight that left two others injured, police said. The disturbance began about 2:15 a.m. Friday when one of the victims was beaten by a group of young people, who police said were suspected gang members. A second man was stabbed in the face when he came to the aid of the first victim, police said. The suspects, who fled after the fight, were arrested by Manhattan Beach police as they drove away on Sepulveda Boulevard. Manhattan Beach police said these suspects began fighting with officers when they were detained. One of the suspects was bitten by a police dog during the struggle. Both victims were taken to South Bay Hospital in Redondo Beach for treatment.
