Freeway Expansion
As an Orange County resident, it is comforting to read (March 8) about the plans proposed by Caltrans for the expansion of the Santa Ana Freeway. It has been exciting to watch our county grow through the years, and yet at the same time to feel discontented with our growing traffic problems.
It would be an unrealistic expectation to think that such an extensive project could be accomplished within initial schedule plans. Although the delays signify an increase in cost, I believe this project is a necessity for the future of our county. It is a well-known fact that the freeway system is a part of California’s life style. I believe that those of us who choose to live in this county will support any improvement of the freeway system if the public is informed about the plans and expectations being made.
