HEAD R-RATED ITEM: How upset do parents get when their kids bring home an objectionable rock album? The Macey Lipman marketing firm recently polled more than 100 retail chains representing 2000 record stores. One of the questions asked: What artists prompted the most parental complaints? It should come as no surprise that the list was dominated by rap groups. The most offensive groups included: 2 Live Crew, Ice-T, NWA., W.A.S.P., Megadeth, Slick Rick, Poison, Guns N’ Roses, Andrew (Dice) Clay, Luke Skywalker, LL Cool J., Slayer and (gasp) Led Zeppelin. . . . And our Review of the Week goes to the Washington Post’s Todd Allan Yasui. Writing about a recent Richard Marx concert at Washington’s Patriot Center, Yasui eyeballed the popster’s bulging biceps, his aerobic stage moves and after getting an earful of his Slurpee ballads, concluded: “Richard Marx is Barry Manilow on steroids.”
