SIDELINES : R.I. Hockey Team Hires Chiefs

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Brad Park, a member of the National Hockey League’s Hall of Fame, and Olympic hockey star Mike Eruzione have been hired to lead a professional international hockey team that will play at the Civic Center.
The team, the New England Clippers, will be one of 10 North American-based teams in the new Global Hockey League. The teams will play an interlocking schedule with as many as 10 teams based in Europe.
Park will be the team’s head coach and general manager and Eruzione will serve in an executive capacity.
