Investigation at Disney: Walt Disney Co. said it is investigating the release of a counterfeit company statement purporting to detail a new five-year movie contract between Disney and singer Michael Jackson. The company said at least one such release was printed on company stationary and sent to several publications. A lengthy story based, in part, on the release appeared in the Hollywood Reporter, a trade magazine, on Tuesday. Separately, Ben Brown, president of the newly formed Jackson Records, said the Jackson family has been approached about going public in a $50-million public stock offering. However, said Michael Jackson’s lawyer, John Branca: “I know nothing about it and neither does Michael.”
