South Carolina starting forward Joe Rhett received a heart pacemaker and will miss the rest of the season, but he is expected to be able to resume his basketball career next season.

The 19-year-old sophomore is expected to be released from Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, S.C., Saturday and should be able to return to classes on Monday, said cardiologist Robert Schulze.
