2 Cluster Rockets Hit Kabul; 2 Killed
Reuters
KABUL, Afghanistan — Two rebel cluster rockets hit Kabul for the second straight day Tuesday, killing two civilians and wounding 28 others, Afghan government spokesman Mohammed Naqib said. Two rockets hit Kabul on Monday but caused no casualties.
Naqib said all four were cluster bomb rockets supplied to guerrillas by the United States. The rockets are designed to explode in mid-air, scattering scores of different kinds of bombs. In the last three weeks, guerrillas have used mostly cluster rockets against Kabul instead of the usual Saker rockets.
