Ford Recalling Vans for Seat Belt Checks
United Press International
DETROIT — Ford Motor Co. said Monday it is recalling for seat belt inspection about 116,000 Aerostar vans from the 1986 and 1987 model years that are equipped with “captain’s chairs.”
The auto maker is asking owners of those vans to check the front seat belt on the right (passenger’s) side to make sure the webbing is not damaged. Ford said it will replace any seat belts that are damaged, and also will mail van owners a protective cover that can easily be installed to protect undamaged belts.
