Gunman Fires at Deliveryman, Misses
SANTA ANA — A Garden Grove man delivering newspapers was fired upon early Saturday but escaped injury, police said.
A 19-year-old Santa Ana man, who was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, later admitted having fired the shots, Santa Ana Police Cpl. Jeff Armstrong said.
Armstrong could not offer a motive for the shooting.
The deliveryman was identified as Lam Van Dang, 35. He was delivering papers in the 4700 block of West Henderson Street at 6:15 a.m.
After questioning, Abel Castaneda, 19, was booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, and was being held in Orange County Jail Saturday night, Armstrong said.
