UCSD Cruises Past Santa Cruz

UC San Diego raced to a big early lead then coasted to a 74-48 nonconference victory over UC Santa Cruz Sunday in La Jolla.

Cari Young had 14 points and seven rebounds to lead UCSD, which improved to 6-5 with its third victory in four games. Nadirah Scott added 11 points and Serena Murillo 10. Melanie Calderwood had 13 points and 10 rebounds for UC Santa Cruz.
