Palmdale Fire Causes $850,000 Damage
A fire at a two-story commercial building in Palmdale early Monday caused $850,000 in damage before it was controlled by Los Angeles County firefighters, authorities said.
The blaze broke out about 12:40 a.m. on the second floor of the Pyramid Square building in the 38400 block of 9th Street East, spokesman Randy Orr said.
It took about 50 firefighters 40 minutes to extinguish the blaze, Orr said. No injuries were reported.
Damage was estimated at $600,000 to the structure and $250,000 to the contents, Orr said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
