Message Music: Florida radio station WMMY in Melbourne began accepting listener’s requests Thursday for songs that will be taped and sent to Panama, where U.S. forces have been blaring rock ‘n’ roll music on loudspeakers outside the Vatican Embassy in an attempt to annoy ousted dictator Manuel A. Noriega, a known opera buff. “We’ve opened it to listeners and we’re going to send a tape of rock music that would hopefully change his mind to make him leave a little quicker,” said WMMY producer Gregg Phillips. Some of the songs to be recorded on the tape include “We Are the Champions” by Queen, “Nowhere To Run To” by Judas Priest and “Smugglers Blues” by Glenn Frey.
