A judge recessed the trial of a Latino police officer charged with manslaughter in the shooting death of a black motorcyclist that sparked three days of racial riots in Miami. Circuit Court Judge Joseph P. Farina recessed the trial of Officer William Lozano until Monday because the defendant was ill. Lozano, 31, is charged with two counts of manslaughter in the Jan. 16 deaths of the motorcyclist and a passenger on the bike. He faces up to 60 years in prison if convicted.
