Del Mar
An Oceanside man who left twin boys at a Del Mar hotel pleaded guilty Thursday to two counts of child endangerment.
Charles Thomas McCoy, 28, entered his felony pleas as his case was to be assigned for trial in San Diego Superior Court. McCoy could be sentenced to a maximum of seven years, four months in state prison and a $20,000 fine.
In a plea bargain, Rodriguez dismissed other charges of molesting the boys, now 3, battering them, and abandoning them March 25.
The twins’ mother, Dorothy DeSimone, 26, of Oceanside, is serving a one-year jail sentence after pleading guilty to child endangerment. McCoy’s former girlfriend, she was sentenced July 5.
The boys’ identities were not known when they were found wandering the hallways of the Del Mar Inn, dressed in their underwear and bruised. They are in a foster home.
