NATION IN BRIEF : PENNSYLVANIA : 5 Inmates Missing After Prison Riot
State police searched the charred rubble and remaining buildings at the Camp Hill state prison, looking for five inmates missing after two nights of riots and fires last week. It was not clear whether the prisoners were killed in the rampage, but officials virtually ruled out any escapes from the medium-security facility. The riots injured 133 people. Meanwhile, Gov. Robert P. Casey appointed a three-member panel to investigate the causes of the riots. Authorities said heavy equipment was being used to move debris from the prison while state police and security personnel conducted building-by-building sweeps for the missing inmates.
