NEWPORT BEACH : Students’ Anti-Drug Features to Screen
Theatergoers at the Edwards Cinemas at Fashion Island tonight will be treated to several short previews dealing with young people making choices--primarily how to stay away from drugs and alcohol.
The 15- to 60-second features, which will run before the main attraction, were produced by the Orange County Student Advisory Council Against Drug Abuse, a group of high school students active in the battle against drugs.
The student council, with the help of the Sheriff’s Department, used a $50,000 grant from Disneyland to produce the anti-drug messages.
The spots will be featured at 7 p.m. at the theater and are part of the Red Ribbon Week anti-drug campaign.
