SANTA ANA : Sketch of Shooting Suspect Is Released

Police have released a composite sketch of a man wanted as a suspect in the shooting of a customer at a convenience store in August.

The customer was shot once as he tried to chase after three men who shoplifted some beer at 1:50 a.m. Aug. 27 from the AM-PM Mini Mart at MacArthur Boulevard and Main Street in Santa Ana. The man is recovering from the bullet wound to the chest.

The gunman was described as being from 17 to 21 years old, 5-foot-9, about 150 pounds and had thick, black, shoulder-length hair. The suspects escaped in a light metallic blue or gray Suzuki Samurai that had a white convertible top.

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the gunman. Santa Ana Police asked that anyone with information about the identify of the gunmen contact robbery investigator Dan Beaumarchais at (714) 647-6968.
