Azusa Pacific University Names Interim President
Azusa Pacific University has appointed the chairman of its board of trustees as interim president while it launches a nationwide search for a permanent president.
Ted Engstrom replaces Paul E. Sago, who resigned after nine years to become president of Woodbury University in Burbank.
Engstrom is president emeritus of World Vision, an international Christian relief organization. He served as president of World Vision from 1980-87 and was executive director and president of Youth For Christ.
Founded in 1899 by the Quakers, Azusa Pacific is a liberal arts school affiliated with evangelical Christian organizations. About 1,600 undergraduate students and 1,100 graduates attend the school, according to Azusa Pacific spokesman John Carvalho.
