Bay Area Ticket Buyers Opting for NL Series
SAN FRANCISCO — Tickets for the San Francisco Giants’ playoff series against the Chicago Cubs are moving faster than those for the Oakland Athletics-Toronto Blue Jays series, according to ticket brokers.
“It’s strange the way it’s going,” said Joan Gordon, owner of the Box Office in San Jose. “I hate to think this is old hat to A’s fans just because they were in the last World Series.”
Oakland lost the 1988 World Series to the Dodgers.
“There’s just not enough money for two teams in the area,” said Mike Tuth of the Ticket Outlet, which has offices in San Francisco and Oakland.
