MCI Matches AT&T; Cut: The nation’s second-largest long-distance carrier said it will trim rates for calls within California of 100 miles or more by 1.3%, effective Wednesday, to maintain lower prices than AT&T;, which reduced rates on Sunday. An undiscounted 5-minute call between Los Angeles and San Francisco during normal business hours will cost $1.19 on MCI, 3 cents less than currently, and $1.01 for a similar call between Los Angeles and San Diego, 4 cents less. Both prices are 1 cent less than AT&T.;
