If you’re heading for central Florida and Walt Disney World territory this fall, get a complimentary copy of the Great Fall Get-A-Way discount coupon booklet offered again this year by the Kissimmee-St. Cloud resort area.
The discount coupons cover a variety of attractions, including theme parks, dinner shows/events, night life, hotels and motels. Coupons are good until the end of 1989, with some good until next Feb. 28. Holidays, however, are excluded.
Coupons for sightseeing attractions are mostly a two-for-one cost, although some offer a discount. Some coupons may even offer discounts off admission prices for up to six people, which is handy for families.
About 15 parks and attractions are participating, including Water Mania, Fun N’ Wheels, Cypress Gardens, SeaEscape, Busch Gardens, Spaceport U.S.A., Wet & Wild, Boardwalk and Baseball, Gatorland Zoo and Old Town.
Dinner attractions cover such places as the Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, Arabian Nights and the Fort Liberty Wild West Dinner Show. Other nighttime options include Little Darlin’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Palace and the Church Street Station complex.
About 40 hotels and motels offer discount coupons, including Hilton, Sheraton, Ramada, Holiday Inn, Howard Johnson and Travelodge.
Accommodations cost from $15.95 to $75 a day with the coupons. Some discounts are per person, but others may be on a per-room basis and allow up to four guests at the same rate.
Extra perks are offered by some properties. On the culinary side there may be free breakfasts and complimentary meals for children under a certain age. Separate discounts at restaurants also may be provided, along with extra nights at no charge after a minimal hotel stay.
More information and a copy of the Great Fall Get-A-Way coupon booklet are available from the Kissimmee-St. Cloud Convention & Visitors Bureau, P.O. Box 2007, Kissimmee, Fla. 34742-2007, toll-free (800) 327-9159. It takes about four weeks to get the booklet.
Carefully check the specific hotel discounts offered, and let the reservation person know you’ll be using a coupon. Have the coupon ready when you check in. Some of the hotels have toll-free reservation numbers.
