Music, Theater Groups Schedule Fall Auditions

South Bay music and theater groups have scheduled auditions for prospective new members.

* The Ready for Prime Time Players, Norris Theatre’s senior citizen touring company, will hold auditions for its fall production, “Spoon River Anthology,” from 7 to 10 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Norris Theatre, 27570 Crossfield Drive, Rolling Hills Estates. A community outreach program of the theater, Prime Time Players is made up of performers 50 and older who produce two shows a year at senior centers throughout the South Bay. They must be available for early fall rehearsals and touring during the last week of October. For information call 544-0403.

* The Beach Cities Symphony is seeking musicians interested in auditioning to become symphony players. String players are especially welcome to audition. Rehearsals for the symphony’s 40th season resume at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Mira Costa High School band room, 701 S. Peck Ave., Manhattan Beach. This year, under the baton of music director and conductor Jerome Kessler, the orchestra will perform music by Beethoven, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky and others. Soloists scheduled to appear include violinists Arnold Belnick and Stuart Canin, cellist Marius May and soprano Andrea Kessler.
