P.M. BRIEFING : Braniff Will Lease 20 Boeing 737s

ORLANDO, Fla. — Braniff Inc. said today it will lease 20 Boeing 737-300 jets from Guiness Peat Aviation under an agreement that calls for the airline to relinquish its contract to buy 12 Fokker 100 aircraft.
Braniff Chairman William G. McGee said the airline decided to make the switch in aircraft orders because the Boeing jet better fits Braniff’s needs.
