SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. — Mike Holland, a member of the U.S. ski team for seven years and its No. 1 jumper for the last five, has retired.
The 27-year-old native of Norwich, Vt., gave several reasons for his decision, including physical demands and the inability to support himself through ski jumping.
Holland, who joined the U.S. team in 1982, won five national titles.
