School Health Clinics
As a teacher at San Marcos High School, I wish to express my concern over the proposed establishment of a school-based health clinic at Hoover High School.
This idea was proposed several years ago and was defeated due to parental concerns over the issue of reproductive health services and the possible distribution of contraceptives. Those issues do not appear to be adequately addressed by the new proposal.
For that reason, I am writing today to express my opposition to this proposal. While I recognize the need for adequate health care for all students, it is my sincere hope that these needs can be addressed in ways other than clinics on campus.
