IN BRIEF : Italian Sportsman Cleared in Probe

ROME — Primo Nebiolo, head of the International Amateur Athletic Federation, has been cleared of wrongdoing by an investigation into alleged financial irregularities with the Italian track body, a Rome prosecutor said.
Prosecutor Antonino Vinci completed his investigations into the much-publicized case and recommended Monday that no charges be filed against Nebiolo. Investigators had checked to see if Nebiolo had improperly used his position to make personal profits off public contracts.
